The Middy Grip-Flex Tower Pots come under the beady eye of Angler’s Mail tackle editor Richard Howard. He’s the No.1 products inspector, checking out loads of quality kit every week.
Description: a pack of two user-friendly pole pots.
Specifications: lightweight, transparent pole pots; optional flip-lids, which are also compatible with the original Grip-Flex pots; soft grip base; side and base holes prevent a vacuum forming when feeding compressed baits.
My verdict: I think these pots have been well thought out. They enable a controlled feeding of 6-10 mm pellets when deposited from the lid that has one hole, or you can sprinkle micro pellets or maggots from the lid that has three smaller holes.
Press the base onto the end of your pole, squeeze the pot to open the lid, load the pot with bait, close the lid, ship it out, tilt it over, and then tap the pole to empty the feed. Hey presto!
These pots are 10 mm taller than the original Grip-Flex versions, making it easier to ship them out.
I’ve heard that Middy are adding a Whopper version early next year, to create a totally modular and compatible range of pots.
